That isn't free gold, that is borderline slavery so you're assumption is ridiculous when people are showing up for 20+ hours a week to make what amounts to nothing. The gold they get isn't free either when they show up every night for 3 hours a night for months on end to make 700 gold a week. I am trying to get my players a respectable amount of gold each night. Like I've said I've spent plenty on this game and have brought plenty of players into this game. Be glad you get what you get and just go on with it. Believe it or not, WG is running a business, and they aren't entitled to give you anything for free. It's bad business to allow people to do that for free. They don't want you to farm 20k gold a day. It's working exactly how they want it to. I get what you're saying, I used to make tons of gold between the skirmishes and CW, however, I am firmly against participation awards and the top clans are the ones who put in the time to get better at this game, and are the ones most deserving of an award for that dedication. Load clan isnt the same as our tourney team No Zuo No Die, but that doesn't mean that our top 30 clan shouldn't be able to make our fair share of gold to keep our players active and motivated. Sure you may be in Otter and I could be in a top 5 clan as well if I wasn't the commander of a clan of my own, but tournaments aside when you go into clan wars and clan based tournaments like c2a you have to be crazy to agree to wg'a course of action. I used to make 12,000 gold a week from the original skirmishes with my old friend ni_yeye. I have come first in hundreds of tournaments and won two type 59's in my day and something around ten tier 8 premium tanks. What I do know, it is not worth it and my clan has seen ourselves go from a completely arbitrary rank of 36 to 26 in the last three weeks with no significant personnel changes, because of all the clans that have died or become less active. With little gold incentives left to offer my players in terms of competitive play, what do I and other clan commanders have to keep motivating our players and even running these clans with more and more nerfs. For now we will continue to struggle on, but for how much longer I don't know. It is great to see that Wargaming is at least consistent in eliminating more and more ways for their players to make gold, today's nerf to call to arms is just the next step towards removing all aspects of 'competitive' play.
